Suddenly It Rings, and You Have to Jump and Get to Work (Viktors Brenners)

Viktors has been eel fishing his whole life. In childhood, he did it together with his father, brother, and his father’s friend Griķis, but now he does it with his Latvian friends.

In the interview, Viktors describes the entire eel-fishing process in detail: both the catching of eels and the equipment needed for it, as well as preparing them for smoking — salting, cleaning, and gutting them. He also describes preparing the barrel, hanging and smoking the eels, and finally, tasting them as well.
