The April episode of the “Taste of Home” has been published!
The program introduces viewers to stories from Latvians around the world about classic festive dishes—rasols and galerts—revealing not only their recipes and cooking tips, but also the memories, traditions, and personal significance these foods hold in diaspora life. In conversation, Museum “Latvians Abroad” curator Marianna Auliciema and researcher Ieva Vītola delve into photographs from the museum’s collection and into stories from Latvians of different generations and countries about their family’s rasols, its variations, and the making of galerts. They also invite listeners to take part in the study by sharing their own family experiences and tastes.
