DVF mobile corner store
UNited Kingdom
From the Daugavas Vanagi monthly magazine, 01.10.1968: “Another DVF business initiative began operating in the middle of summer: the DVF mobile corner store. The well-known DV worker Arturs Vancāns has been successfully involved as its manager. From its base in Birmingham, the store will serve the larger Latvian centers in northern and central England. On its first trips, it has already visited Coventry, Leicester, Corby, Huntington, Wolverhampton, and Birmingham. Visits to several other Latvian centers are also possible. The store is set up in a specially built vehicle, equipped with two refrigerators and other modern appliances. It offers a wide range of continental goods at reasonable prices. Compatriots are invited to support this DVF initiative, as the profits will be used to further common goals.”
