Cookbook “Letts Eat!” (Vija Doks)

Artist and author Vija Doks talks about her cookbook “LETTS EAT!: A Latvian Cartoon Cookbook”, first published in the United States in 1992. It is perhaps the most unusual Latvian diaspora cookbook — created in the style of a comic book. The book features Latvian recipes that Vija learned from her parents, along with creative and humorous commentary on Latvian dishes and traditions from her own perspective.

Originally released in a small print run in 1992, the book was republished in 1995 and 2024. It is available for purchase at Printed Matter.
